WWE was called out by Britney Abrahams, a former writer for the company as she filed a lawsuit following her release from WWE when she took home a WrestleMania event chair without permission. A lot has happened since then and now the racism lawsuit has been voluntarily dismissed.
Back in April, Abrahams filed the aforementioned lawsuit in which WWE was accused of racist creative pitches and even included quite a few racist practices and creative angles. The defendants named in the suit were WWE, Chris Dunn, Ryan Callahan, Jennifer Pepperman, Christine Lubrano, Mike Heller, Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon.
As previously reported, Britney Abrahams filed to dismiss the suit against all the individuals listed but not WWE, as the company still remains the sole defendant in the lawsuit.
According to a report by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, Britney Abrahams voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice, which means that it can’t be tried again in the same court.
Former WWE writer Britney Abrahams’ racial discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit against WWE has been voluntarily dismissed.
Abrahams in August voluntarily dismissed the case against named defendants including Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and members of the WWE creative team but the complaint against the company remained until today.
The dismissal is with prejudice, meaning the case can’t be tried again in the same court.
This lawsuit also alleged that an idea was pitched for Shane Thorne to hunt down Reggie like an animal and put him in a cage, but that never took place for a good reason. Regardless, the case has finally been dismissed and WWE no longer has to worry about it ever again.
