Melina is undoubtedly one of the most important names in the history of the WWE women’s division, as she worked hard to establish herself as one of the better female wrestlers during her time in the company. That said, Melina knew WWE would fire her after a brief interaction with Vince McMahon.

Melina played a vital role in the women’s division during the mid-2000s, when the era of Lita and Trish Stratus was coming to a close. Alongside talented performers such as Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, and Mickie James, Melina helped lead the division during a time when female wrestlers did not have the same opportunities as they do today.

Despite all she did for the company, Melina would get fired by WWE back in August 2011. While speaking with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Melia revealed that she actually predicted she’d get fired a few days before getting the call. Melina recalled speaking to Vince McMahon at a SmackDown taping and their conversation made it clear to her that she was going to get released.

“I didn’t know [I was being fired] until the next day. The next day… I went to go support John [Morrison] because I had to drive him to SmackDown because he was working on… I think it was either Smackdown or ECW. I drove him to the show,so I stayed and I was in gorilla. Vince was passing by and he stopped and he turned and he looked at me and he said, “you have a good night.”

Then he turned around and walked away, and all the guys were like “WOW, you know, he made sure to say good night to you.” I was like, “holy f*ck, I’m getting fired.” They said “Oh shut up, Melina you’re not getting fired.” I said, “he just said, f*ck you to be but with a good night.” And sure enough a couple of days later, I got fired. I called it I called it.”

Melina also made it clear she couldn’t care less if she never returned to WWE. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the former WWE Superstar, as a return to her company seems unlikely now.
