WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has been part of the pro wrestling industry for decades now and while he remains a controversial figure, there is no denying his influence in the business.  Bischoff has largely been critical of AEW and now it appears Bischoff went after Tony Khan once again.

This week’s episode of NXT defeated AEW Dynamite in terms of ratings by a very large margin, which many fans didn’t find surprising. Before the shows,  Tony Khan threw shade at McMahon for his assault allegations. He then went after Vince McMahon once again after AEW Dynamite lost to NXT.

Tony Khan then threw shade at The Undertaker and John Cena for failing to pull enough viewers for NXT. While speaking on his Strictly Business show, Eric Bischoff talked about Tony Khan’s antics this week and stated that he believes Khan is beyond help, adding that he doesn’t think Khan even wants help and simply wants to be like Vince McMahon or Paul Heyman.

“I think Tony’s beyond help. I don’t think Tony Khan is the type of person that wants help. I think Tony Khan more than anything else wants to be Paul Heyman or wants to be Vince McMahon.

“Yeah, this is a vanity project. He loves wrestling, okay, I get it. He loves wrestling. He loves it. He loves it with every fibre of his being. That doesn’t mean he’s good at it. And unless Tony recognises that he’s not good at it. You could bring in anybody you wanted to and it won’t work because he won’t listen, not to the extent that he needs to. I wouldn’t wish that position on anybody that I know. Absolutely not.”

Perhaps it is time to go back to the drawing board for Tony Khan, as AEW Dynamite’s defeat at the hands of NXT is certainly a wake-up call for the company. We’ll have to see whether AEW will improve their product in the coming weeks.

What’s your view on what Eric Bischoff said? Do you think AEW is suffering because of Tony Khan? Let us know in the comments!
