AEW has a lot of things going on, and a couple titles have been switched around in recent memory. The International Title changed hands this week on Title Tuesday. That was a big win for Freshly Squeezed after the company discovered that Jon Moxley wasn’t cleared to compete early that afternoon. There is a lot more to that story.

The championship scene in AEW has faced some turmoil due to injuries. Originally, Jon Moxley was not supposed to lose the AEW International Title to Rey Fenix. However, Moxley got injured, and during their September match, a decision was made on the spot to change the outcome. All Elite Wrestling had tentative plans to have Jon Moxley regain the title on the October 10th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Unfortunately, on the day of the show, Jon Moxley was not medically cleared and was substituted by Orange Cassidy. Cassidy went on to win the International Title. It’s worth noting that in the days or weeks leading up to this, the likely scenario was that whoever faced Rey Fenix would have won the title, even though Orange Cassidy wasn’t initially considered for it.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Fenix lost that title to Orange Cassidy because of visa issues. He apparently won’t be back on AEW television for some time to come.

According to sources close to him, Fenix is facing visa issues that will have him out of action on AEW TV. We aren’t sure the length, but the decision was made to move the International Title that was never set to be on him in the first place.

We’re hoping that Fenix can get his visa issues taken care of. He is a real value to the roster. In the meantime, he will also get some much-needed time off, so he can heal from any injury that might be nagging right now.

Fenix may have been scheduled to lose the AEW International Title anyway, so Jon Moxley lost a chance to hold that title again this week on Dynamite. Only time will tell when Moxley is cleared after that concussion, so he can return to possibly to take on Orange Cassidy for that title.
