During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Cash Wheeler was not injured in that short AEW World Tag Team Title match, as many thought he was. In fact, FTR wanted to do it that way, but there is no injury for Wheeler.

“So the deal, I guess, is that Cash Wheeler isn’t hurt and it’s all storyline. It’s storyline, and yeah, and it’s just to put those guys over buy, and they’re gonna be back in the mix.”

“The match thing was their idea, for sure.”

AEW has a lot of interesting angles going around the company, but faking an injury may be something that they want to stay away from in the future. After all, injuries are something that needs to be dealt with transparently, and not used so much to get an angle over, because it only worries and can frustrate fans as well.

FTR are apparently okay to wrestle, but this is just the direction they are going right now with the story. For more on this, and so much more from all over the pro wrestling world, please stay tuned with us here at Ringside News.
