WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite haven’t battled in a while. That will change this week as they go head-to-head. Both shows are bringing commercial free chunks of programming, but Tony Khan may even do more than that.
It’s a head-to-head clash tonight between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT, set to begin at 8 PM EST. “Dynamite: Title Tuesday” is being aired on a different night due to baseball, and both shows are making efforts to outdo each other. They both plan to include ten-minute extensions at the end of the show and begin with a half-hour free of commercials.
AEW’s commercial-free half-hour is not entirely fixed, and on The Dan LeBatard Show, AEW owner Tony Khan hinted that “Dynamite” might extend beyond the promised half-hour. “I may even go more than a half an hour,” Tony Khan stated. He has the power to do that if he wants.
“I’m going to try and push it. I’m going to try and go a bit over 30 minutes. I’ll go as far as they’re going to let me go.”
Tony Khan also expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to appear on the show and promote the Tuesday night broadcast on TBS. He acknowledged that AEW’s partnership with TBS and the trust between the two parties allowed them to go commercial-free. When asked about the exact duration of the extended commercial-free segment, Khan didn’t provide a definite answer but indicated he would attempt to keep it going for as long as possible.
We will have to see what Tony Khan and AEW pull off tonight. October 10th’s Tuesday Night War certainly seems special. NXT is also bringing quite a show to battle anything Tony Khan can bring to the table.
