Gigi Dolin has certainly had her share of twists and turns in her wrestling journey. Once a prominent member of Toxic Attraction alongside Mandy Rose and Jacy Jayne, her path took an unexpected detour when Rose was let go, and Jayne’s loyalties shifted.
This talented performer, formerly known as Priscilla Kelly, inked her WWE deal on January 20, 2021, and swiftly made her presence felt in the world of NXT. Over the past two years, Dolin has been a standout in the NXT landscape.
During a chat on Drinks With Johnny, she delved into her creative process and revealed the intriguing name she initially pitched for herself upon joining WWE: “Gigi Aileen.” However, it was a name laden with dark connotations, as it bore a striking resemblance to the infamous serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Dolin recollected the conversation.
“I’m trying to remember what other first names did I come up with (for my WWE run). I know that I wanted the name Gigi Aileen was one that I liked but that one didn’t pass because of Aileen Wuornos. They were like, ‘No, we’re not doing that. That’s a serial killer. You can’t do that.’
“We have Joe Gacy which is in the same ballpark but, I don’t know, I get it. They’re probably like, we already have Joe Gacy coming in around the same time as me and it was like, if I came in with another serial killer name, it was probably just gonna be a little overkill maybe. I don’t know (she laughed).”
In a recent episode of NXT, Dolin showcased her prowess in the squared circle by defeating Blair Davenport. The wrestling world eagerly anticipates how WWE will continue to script the journey of this young NXT sensation in the weeks to come.
