NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18’s Main Event Now Confirmed

NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom event is hailed as one of the greatest events in the history of professional wrestling, as fans are guaranteed several match of the year contenders at the event. NJPW has just confirmed the main event for Wrestle Kingdom 18 today as well.

At Monday’s NJPW Destruction in Ryoku, SANADA retained his IWGP World Heavyweight Title against EVIL. Following the conclusion of the match, he was confronted by G1 Climax winner Tetsuya Naito. NJPW would then confirm their upcoming title match official on January 4, 2024, which will be the main event.

The master of the Destino became the #1 contender by winning the G1 Climax tournament and even defended his shot against Jeff Cobb at NJPW Destruction in Kobe on September 24.

Naito and SANADA used to be part of Los Ingobernables de Japon before SANADA left the group and joined Just Five Guys. Therefore, the upcoming battle will be a very personal one.

There is no doubt this match will surpass all expectations as SANADA has put in his best work after becoming champion, while Naito’s in-ring skills at the big stage can never be denied. We’ll have to see who will come out on top in the match.
