AEW is running a show on Tuesday next week, and Title Tuesday will not go unopposed. Tony Khan’s company quickly realized that WWE is protecting NXT’s Tuesday night spot, because they have put a ton of work into improving those numbers.
WWE put extra emphasis on NXT in recent memory, and that effort is paying off. Tuesday’s episode of NXT will be loaded with John Cena, Asuka, Cody Rhodes, Paul Heyman. The Undertaker is also very likely to make an appearance, although they haven’t outright promoted him yet, except to play his iconic gong sound during NXT’s commercial.
Wrestlenomics noted on X that NXT has improved dramatically in the key 18 to 49 demographic, more than any other area of viewership. This is incredibly important, because advertisers value that demographic in a big way.
“More than other demographic groups, NXT has won back men 18 to 34, coinciding with the show’s recent ratings improvement.”
The post also included a chart of NXT’s performance, which you may view below. Obviously, WWE is doing something right with NXT. Even after a dodgy run with NXT 2.0, the brand was able to re-focus and that momentum is undeniable now.
WWE NXT even beat AEW Dynmaite in viewership last week. Only time will tell how October 10th turns out, but it appears that we will have a one-night installment of the Tuesday Night War.
