During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that he believes AEW is afraid to go without Adam Cole. He is such a popular star that a true hiatus for the former NXT Champion may cause viewers to stop tuning in, since he’s such a hot act in the company right now.
“Look, it could be anything. I guess we’ll know. It doesn’t look great to me, but I think they’re afraid to take him off the air, because he’s a hot act.”
Adam Cole has been on AEW Dynamite both weeks since his injury. He appeared in pre-recorded video vignettes, one where he was fishing and the other he was in rehab. Now, we will have to see where his story take him next. TBS actually botched his segment this week, and they re-aired it during the live show.
AEW may need Adam Cole during this time, but he is still injured. That being said, Cole will likely do anything he can to make sure that AEW has the best show possible, even during his injury.
