CM Punk was fired from AEW, and there are a lot of stories going around about him right now. A few of those may be ones that Punk wants people talking about at a time like this, when he was recently made a free agent thanks to his release.
A story is making waves today that CM Punk wants to make a return to WWE, and those close to the Second City Savior have said that there are currently talks between the two sides. It appears that this story is gaining some traction.
Ringside News reached out to the WWE side of things to see if there is any interest to have CM Punk back, and whether there is actually any talks about his return. We were told by a tenured member of the team that “there’s no talks.”
It was noted that, “‘Those close to Punk’ are the ones who want the buzz out for negotiations, hoping the networks or Endeavor will make the deal real.” This was explained to us as CM Punk “trying to get himself in the door.”
We will have to see if there is more to unpack in this situation. Survivor Series is in Chicago, but they have had no trouble selling tickets for the show, since it will feature a WarGames match. Also, WWE booked their Survivor Series event for Chicago long before CM Punk was ever a free agent once again.
Ringside News will have complete coverage. That includes any show, including WWE RAW, SmackDown, NXT and every premium live event. Also, don’t forget to hang out with us in our live results section during the events for our comprehensive play-by-play coverage.
