Matt Riddle had a lot of potential in WWE as many fans felt he would become a World Champion someday, but that was all for nothing as Riddle’s personal life ended up costing him his job in WWE. That being said, Vince Russo believes that WWE did a terrible job with Riddle.

As Ringside News exclusively reported, multiple attempts were made to de-escalate the situation with Matt Riddle before things got physical at JKF Airport. It was also told to us that Matt Riddle appeared to be “heavily intoxicated” at the time.”

The incident was the straw that broke the camel’s back as Matt Riddle was released by WWE last month. While speaking on Writing with Russo, former WWE writer Vince Russo talked about Matt Riddle’s release. Russo stated that he believes that WWE did a terrible job with Riddle and added that they had no idea how to book him.

“When I say I’ll watch Roman Reigns, I’ll watch Bray Wyatt, Riddle was on the fringe for me because he was really special. They didn’t know how to book him. They did a terrible job, but he had personality. He was a great athlete, and he had the ‘it’ factor. He was just a little amateur for his own good. I hope he learns from that.”
