Lio Rush achieved lot over his years in WWE as he had a decent fanbase in the company. His time in AEW wasn’t memorable and it ended long before it could even begin. Rush has largely been spending his time in NJPW now and truly honed his craft in a big way there. Now Rush has been pulled from upcoming events due to illness.
Lio Rush is now a mainstay in NJPW and fans are truly behind him now. He even cut a passionate promo a few days ago, making it clear that he left it all behind in order to conquer Japan.
According to NJPW’s official website, Lio Rush has been pulled from upcoming live events on October 4th and 5th as he is currently suffering from an illness and has been replaced by Ryusuke Taguchi.
Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Due to illness, Lio Rush will be absent from live events this week in Iwate and Aomori. Rush will be replaced by Ryusuke Taguchi October 4 and 5.
We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Lio wrestle and appreciate your understanding.
NJPW joins fans in wishing Lio a full and fast recovery.
Lio Rush is still scheduled to square off against IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi and “Speedball” Mike Bailey in a three-way match at NJPW Destruction in Ryogoku on October 9, but the match is now in question. We’ll have to see whether Rush will be able to recover in time for the event.
