WWE fired several people from their roster, and those cuts followed over 100 cuts from the company’s headquarters. WWE may not have filed this with the Department of Labor yet, but those cuts certainly happened. Kevin Nash believes that those roster cuts came through for a very specific reason.

During the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash spoke about those WWE releases. WWE has brought in big talent like Jade Cargill and Nia Jax in recent memory. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer stated that he believes that those cuts took place to allow WWE the flexibility to land those big signings.

“Dolph and Rick Boogs, they were two guys who I was like, ‘wow, really?’ I think they brought Nia Jax back on RAW, and they just signed Jade Cargill, so I think they’re just opening some spots to move some people. I don’t necessarily think that the talent cuts were, you don’t just cut talent and then sign two new pieces of talent. I think they’re restructuring, and creative is also restructuring.”

There were certainly some interesting names on that list of releases. Mustafa Ali’s firing really upset a few people in NXT, because they had plans for him until WrestleMania season next year.

Only time will tell what WWE’s landscape looks like this time next year, but that last round of cuts certainly freed up some money for other talent.

As Ringside News exclusively reported, WWE also inked a deal with AOP and Paul Ellering, and they are awaiting creative ideas right now. Only time will tell who else WWE brings into the company, but there is certainly no hiring freeze, and there technically never was.
