Chris Jericho, one of the prominent figures in AEW, expressed his confidence that the arrival of Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge) will rejuvenate Copeland’s passion for wrestling and lead to some of his best work in AEW.
At AEW WrestleDream, Adam Copeland made his highly anticipated debut, signing with the company. This reunion in AEW brings Copeland together with several wrestling stars he has shared a history with, including Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, and Christian Cage.
Jericho, who has known Copeland since 1995, emphasized Copeland’s genuine love for wrestling while speaking at the media scrum. He acknowledged that in other places, this passion might have been stifled or distorted, but AEW provides an environment where that love can flourish. Jericho’s belief is that Copeland’s motivation and excitement will lead to him delivering some of the finest performances of his career in AEW.
“I’ve known Adam since 1995. He loves wrestling. Sometimes, in other places, that love of wrestling kind of gets squashed and warped a bit, maybe. It’s not like that in AEW. When some of the other guys came, like FTR and Adam Cole and those guys, they couldn’t believe the difference and the vibe of what we have here.”
“Talking with Adam and seeing him come out to the ring, he’s super stoked and super excited and super motivated. When you’re motivated, that’s when great wrestlers become even better and more legendary. He’s already a great wrestler. He’s a first-round Hall of Famer. Now that he’s motivated again, I think we’re going to see some of the best work Adam Copeland has ever done now here in AEW.”
The pairing of Adam Copeland and AEW is anticipated to result in an exciting new chapter for the legendary wrestler, and fans are eager to witness the next phase of his career unfold in the promotion.
