Saraya is the AEW Women’s Champion, and that was a big moment for her in Wembley Stadium as she won the gold. That being said, this wasn’t always the plan.

At AEW All In London, Saraya was able to capture the moment and win the AEW Women’s Title. This went down in a four-way match with Toni Storm, Britt Baker, and Hikaru Shida.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Saraya’s AEW Women’s Title win was actually a late decision. It wasn’t confirmed how far in advance Tony Khan made that decision, but she found out about the win the day before the show.

The decision to make Saraya champion was a late one, based on those familiar with the situation. We can’t be certain how far ahead Tony Khan made the decision for the title switch, but those close to Saraya say she learned no further than a day prior.
