Ilja Dragunov is undoubtedly one of the top stars in NXT, who is famous for ending Gunther’s NXT UK Championship reign. He also ended another title reign at NXT No Mercy as he defeated Carmelo Hayes to become the new NXT Champion. He would then share a moment with Shawn Michaels.
At the NXT No Mercy Premium Live Event, Ilja Dragunov challenged Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship in one of the most highly anticipated matches in NXT history. It was as hard-hitting as one would expect from these competitors, but Dragunov would eventually win the match and become the new champion.
Following his massive win, WWE uploaded a video of Ilja Dragunov meeting up with Shawn Michaels backstage. The two would share a moment as The Heartbreak Kid congratulated Dragunov on his major win.

Fans are certainly happy to see Ilja Dragunov finally reach the top of the mountain in NXT. Now it remains to be seen whether he will have a tremendous run as the NXT Champion.
