WWE brings in extras from the local area for each week’s show. Naturally, when anyone brings in guests they need to be careful about who they have around, and where those guests are allowed to go. It appears that the company is doing something about this potential issue.

WWE Superstars have runthroughs before the show. They aren’t just going out there and making up lines, and we’re certainly not seeing Superstars’ first take in most instances. Runthroughs are very important, because they can help segments in numerous ways, but they don’t need extras around watching.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE has changed their policy about extras. They are no longer allowed to sit and watch Superstars during their runthroughs.

“We’re told in recent months that WWE has prevented some extras from watching show runthroughs from the crowd as a part of a protocol to tighten up some behavior from them.”

It’s unclear how they might treat extras who are actually involved in a segment, because it makes sense if they are allowed around in that instance. We have not heard of any specific problems with WWE extras in recent memory, but it appears that the company is doing something to prevent any issues. Runthroughs are also a time when WWE Superstars need to be able to focus with minimal distractions.

WWE has a lot going on, and they don’t need extras around where they aren’t needed. It could also limit leaks that can ruin the idea of a surprise during the company’s television shows.

What’s your take on WWE limiting their extras to tighten up on them? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
