WWE had a lot of things to do for their episode of SmackDown for the September 29th episode, as the company is striving to provide the best form of entertainment for their dedicated fans. The question remains – how was the viewership for this week’s show?

According to Alfred Konuwa, the September 29th episode of WWE SmackDown drew an overnight viewership of 2.153 million viewers, and 699K of those were in the 18 to 49 demographic. It was further added that it was no. 1 across all broadcast television.
SmackDown’s September 22nd episode brought in an overnight average of 2.11 million viewers, and 758K in the coveted 18 to 49 demographic. This episode saw Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa utterly dismantle John Cena as a handicap match was booked at the time for WWE Fastlane.
SmackDown’s September 15th episode garnered an overnight average of 2.445 million, with 834k of those in the highly important 18 to 49 demographic. This episode featured the return of The Rock after almost four years, which was a big deal.
The September 8th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight viewership of 1.969 million, with a .47 in the 18 to 49 demographic. That episode was the aftermath following WWE Payback.
The September 1st episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an average of 2.28 million viewers, with a .6 in the 18 to 49 demographic. This was their go-home episode before WWE Payback.
WWE SmackDown on August 25th averaged 2.505 million viewers. They also scored a .71 in the 18 to 49 demographic for the emotional episode, which was a tribute to Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk.
SmackDown’s episode on August 18th brought in 2.233 million viewers, with a .53 in the 18 to 49 demographic. This episode did not include any Bloodline members, but the Toronto show focused on Edge.
The August 11th episode brought in an overnight average of 2.650 million viewers, with a .6 in the 18 to 49 demographic. It might be worth noting that some markets saw a game instead. The main event match saw Rey Mysterio win the United States Title. Also, Jey Uso quit WWE to end the night.
The August 4th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight viewership of 2.15 million, with 744k of those in the 18 to 49 demographic, which was #1 in their demographic for the night.
The July 28th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight viewership of 2.17 million viewers. That was the fast national number, but it was further theorized that the actual number would be between 2.23 million and 2.34 million viewers.
July 21st’s episode of the blue brand on FS1 brought in 1.182 million viewers, this number was up 31% from the last time they were on FS1. Out of that number, 448k were in the treasured 18 to 49 demographic.
The July 14th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight average of 2.157 million viewers, with a .54 in the 18 to 49 demographic.
The July 7th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight viewership of 2.375 million, with a .7 in the 18 to 49 demographic. That was their Money in the Bank fallout, and the Bloodline’s segment got over 30 minutes to kick off the broadcast.
The June 30th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight average of 2,510,000 viewers, with a .69 in the 18 to 49 demographic.
The company already announced a noteworthy match and segment for next week’s show as well. It remains to be seen how next week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown will be booked as it will be the go-home edition of the show before the WWE Fastlane Premium Live Event.
