AEW President Tony Khan founded the company back in 2019 and made a lot of promises to fans, stating that they will never make the same mistakes that put WCW out of business. The company continues to expand in many ways, especially due to the numerous shows it has so far. That said, Vince Russo is convinced Tony Khan is paying for TV time for AEW.

Warner Bros Discovery is AEW’s television home, as they host Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision on their channels. They even have a exclusive deal with Tony Khan’s company for content that saw them nix the two AEW Dark YouTube shows in the process.

AEW Dynamite and Collision continue to see dwindling ratings even now. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Vince Russo talked about the company’s dwindling ratings and made it clear that he is convinced Tony Khan is paying for TV time for AEW.

Any other show in television that did not increase their ratings over four years would be gone. They would be gone. I’m gonna go back to my original theory — there’s no question in my mind that Tony Khan is paying for TV time. The dude’s a billionaire, he wants these shows on the network, he’s going to the network and saying, ‘What do you guys think you can make through advertising, etc.? Ok, no problem, I’ll double it.’

There’s no way they [WBD] are happy with the numbers AEW gets.”

AEW has a lot of things in the pipeline, but the company’s dwindling ratings continues to be a source of concern for many. We’ll have to wait and see if the company will be able to improve their ratings.
