WWE has their eyes on a lot of top talent all over the world. Some of those names aren’t under contract, so there could be interest. It just so happens that one top free agent used to work for WWE in a very interesting way.

We previously reported that Mariah May’s contract in Japan ran up, and there was interest from AEW. She also apparently told people in Japan that she’s not going to WWE or AEW.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that although Mariah May said she’s not going to WWE, it has always been a dream of hers. She also modeled for the company’s UK Shop a few years ago.

Mariah May will be leaving after the 9/30 show which is the final night of the Five Star Grand Prix tournament facing Hanan. Her leaving was expected as women like her who have the right look and go to Stardom to get the experience of working multiple times a week with top talent always eventually leave. She had told people in Japan that she is eventually coming back and that she was going back home to see family in the U.K. She is flying back to the U.K., not the U.S. We do know that AEW has expressed interest in her. When she was younger, she worked as a model and modeled WWE merchandise in the U.K. and growing up WWE was her goal. She did tell the office she’s not going to WWE or AEW.

WWE had a chance to sign Mariah May years ago, because she had a tryout. That didn’t pan out for her, but she didn’t stop her pro wrestling journey. Only time will tell if she finds her way back to WWE, but things will be much different this time.

AEW could always swoop in and sign Mariah May. After all, their women’s division certainly needs bulking up. They have lost a few people in recent memory, like Jade Cargill, who left for WWE, or Serena Deeb, who disappeared after getting massive heat with management.
