Jim Ross is a WWE Hall of Famer and was the voice of several generations of fans, as he gave decades of his life to the business. Ross has been part of numerous iconic moments in the business, and he continues to be respected even now. He has been with AEW since day one and it appears he is optimistic about re-signing with AEW after a recent conversation.
Due to his veteran status, Jim Ross is well aware of how the pro wrestling world functions and how certain things in AEW can be perceived. Naturally, whatever Jim Ross says carries a lot of weight.
It was previously reported that Jim Ross’ contract would be expiring soon. That is why Ross and Tony Khan started negotiations for a possible contract renewal. While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast with host Conrad Thompson, Ross revealed that he is optimistic about re-signing with AEW after a recent conversation with AEW.
”Tony Khan has answered a lot of my prayers and I hope to continue working for AEW for the foreseeable future as our goal. That’s Tony’s goal, that’s my goal. Tony and I had a nice chat about my contract last week at TV, so are things are well in that regard. I’m sure that between Barry Bloom, my agent, the legal department at AEW they’re going to get something worked out, that’s my belief. I’m being positive and optimistic, so this is the best scenario for me that I could imagine working for a young company where you go to work you feel invigorated, you feel excited, you’re around a lot of great young talent that wants to be stars and this groups of talents – they work their ass off.”
Jim Ross was also a major part of both AEW All In and All Out and continues to be a highlight of Collision every week. We’ll have to see when both parties will agree to a contract renewal.
