AEW has gone through numerous changes over the past four years and as the company expanded, they have hired more and more talent. This is especially true for former WWE Superstars, who have all made it to AEW. Now it appears several former WWE Superstars see AEW as a step down from their previous company.
There are many former WWE Superstars who have seen success in AEW so far, including the likes of Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho and more. However, there are many others who haven’t been able to do much since arriving to AEW and many fans feel they are wasted in the company.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that there are several ex-WWE stars who see AEW as a step down from WWE. It was added that many of them are just waiting to get back to WWE again.
“A lot of ex-WWE talent went to AEW and saw it as a step down, and even though some of them have been pushed, they haven’t really helped the company, although they still may.
But there are several that you get the impression that they can’t wait to get back to WWE, see it as the major league, if they can get an offer when their AEW deal expires.”
With WWE signing Jade Cargill to a multi-year contract bringing a lot of fan fare and attention to the company again, only time will tell whether more AEW talent will end up in WWE in the future.
