Tiffany Stratton has been earmarked for greatness after debuting in NXT back in 2021 and wasted no time in becoming a major star there. That said it appears there were elements to her character that she couldn’t add as WWE wasn’t able to trademark ‘Barbie’ for her.
When Tiffany Stratton began her NXT career, many people called her NXT’s resident Buff Barbie. This made many fans wonder whether she would incorporate elements of Barbie as well.
That said, it never came to fruition. While speaking with ComicBook Nation, Tiffany Stratton revealed that she wanted Barbie elements for her character. However, WWE simply wasn’t able to trademark ‘Barbie’ for her.
”The whole Barbie stuff, I actually wanted to be called the ‘Buff Barbie Doll’ since the very beginning. I pitched the Barbie stuff for a while and they always told me that, ‘Oh, we can’t trademark Barbie. It’s already a thing.’ But I was actually — so when I was a bodybuilder, I got on (the) little Snapchat stories thing and they called me the ‘Buff Barbie Doll’ and I thought it was so cool, it matched perfectly and then I tried to bring it to WWE and they told me no but, I think just with the Barbie movie coming out, I think it was just the perfect time to put my name in the Barbie letters, the pink gear and just kind of incorporate some Barbie stuff there.”
Becky Lynch is set to defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules match at NXT No Mercy on September 30th. It remains to be seen whether Stratton will end up reclaiming her title at the event.
