Former Impact World Champion Steve Maclin had a lot of momentum this year, but an injury somewhat brought that to a halt. He’s been a part of the company for over two years now, but it appears he is still working with a torn labrum injury that he suffered during his first year with Impact Wrestling.
WWE released Steve Cutler from his contract as part of their pandemic cuts and he is now working in Impact Wrestling. He joined the promotion in the summer of 2021 and has been a mainstay since then.
He also came back in August this year after suffering a groin injury. While speaking on Cody Deaner’s ‘Wrestling is Life is Wrestling’ podcast, Maclin talked about his groin injury but then revealed that he suffered a torn labrum during his first year with Impact Wrestling and still hasn’t fixed it.
‘So actually, the first year at IMPACT, I tore my labrum, never got it fixed. I just worked through it. Tore my labrum in my right shoulder. That’s just the business. You find a way to work around injuries and I gotta put food on the table. I can’t be out right now and this (partial groin tear) was one of those injuries that kept me — I hated it. I’m glad you (Deaner) got to step up for Slams so thank you (Maclin smiled).”
Steve Maclin most recently competed in the Feast or Fired match at IMPACT 1000 and had a singles match against Josh Alexander at Victory Road. We’ll have to see if he will ever get his torn labrum fixed in the end.
What’s your view on what Steve Maclin said? Are you shocked he still hasn’t fixed his torn labrum injury? Sound off in the comments!
