Bryan Danielson was a big get for Tony Khan’s company when he arrived. Although it was expected that fans would see Danielson’s debut at Double or Nothing, Adam Cole’s arrival right before that did allow the American Dragon’s emergence to catch us off-guard. It appears that Danielson has really stepped up in AEW as well.

Bryan Danielson was on the creative team while he was in WWE. Ringside News exclusively reported in 2020 that Danielson was going above and beyond in WWE as he tried his best in that role. He is doing a great job as a veteran in AEW as well.

During Grilling JR, Jim Ross and Conrad Thompson talked about JR’s departure from WWE in 2013, which occurred following a problematic symposium involving an intoxicated Ric Flair. Ross also expressed his favorable opinions about AEW WrestleDream, set to air on pay-per-view this Sunday night, and Bryan Danielson’s role as a leader on AEW Collision. Even with CM Punk’s departure, Collision ratings have seen an increase, and Ross attributed this to Danielson, dubbing him the MVP of the show.

“I think anytime Bryan Danielson’s in a feature to attraction, it’s something to look forward to. So I would say he’ll set the bar, he meaning Bryan Danielson. So he’s red hot, man. He’s red hot, and his match with Zack Sabre Jr. should be textbook. The whole show is loaded with some really good talents who are looking to turn a head or two. So it’s gonna be fun in Seattle.”

“He’s probably the most valuable player in AEW right now, at least in my opinion, not that we don’t have other MVPs. He’s really taken up a huge role, a leadership role. And that’s why I’m so blessed to be on Collision. That’s Bryan Danielson’s show. And it’s great because he brings maturity and ideas, a spirit de corps. He’s very, very important to everything that we do on Saturday night, especially. Bryan is really one of the best. I don’t know who’s a better worker in the world than Bryan Danielson right now. We’re lucky to have him and I love him to be around. We talk every Saturday. We talked about this or that or this idea or that idea. Just it’s refreshing. It’s a breath of fresh air to say the least.”

It’s a big deal for Jim Ross to heap that kind of praise onto someone. Bryan Danielson has certainly proved his worth in Tony Khan’s company, and odds are there are a lot of stories left to tell before he completely hangs up his boots.

We will have to see what’s next for Bryan Danielson in AEW. He is helping Tony Khan out in a big way, and those contributions are certainly being noticed as well.

Ringside News will also have full coverage of AEW WrestleDream, Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision, including entire play-by-play results in our AEW results section.
