AEW had to change up plans when Jon Moxley suffered a concussion. Now we have a bit more clarity in the situation.

We previously reported that a non-AEW wrestler was supposed to come out and challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW International Title at WrestleDream. That isn’t happening now that Moxley dropped the title after suffering a concussion.

The referee in that International Title match, Rick Knox, also has a bit of heat on him. Now we know who was supposed to face Moxley at WrestleDream.

Bodyslam.net reports that “Filthy” Tom Lawlor was set to be Jon Moxley’s opponent at WrestleDream. Now, that match isn’t happening as they hoped.

“Bodyslam.net spoke to sources about who Moxley’s opponent was scheduled to be and were told that the original “non-AEW name” previously reported was none other than “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. We have also been told that should Moxley be cleared for Sunday’s show, the match will be back on.”

We will have to see if AEW can get back around to booking “Filthy” Tom Lawlor against Jon Moxley. That could be a banger of a match for AEW if they can make things work out.

Jon Moxley must pass a concussion protocol before he can make a return to the ring. Hopefully, that will happen sooner than later, but it’s not likely that he will be cleared in time to make that match happen against “Filthy” Tom Lawlor at WrestleDream.
