Becky Lynch Admits WWE Changed Plans For Her On RAW

WWE makes plans for their weekly television shows, but you never know when things may change. It appears that one reported switch on RAW was the real deal, and The Man is now confirming that she wanted a different opponent other than Natalya.

It was previously reported that Becky Lynch wanted Tegan Nox as her open challenge opponent for the NXT Women’s Title. Natalya got that spot instead, and she lost the match. The next week on WWE RAW, they turned that into a storyline point in Nox’s revamped direction.

Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post recently spoke to Becky Lynch. Aside from giving backhanded compliment to Jade Cargill, The Man also admitted that WWE changed those plans for RAW.

“There is full truth in that. That was one of the things that I wanted to do with this title. I wanted to have open challenges for the women who haven’t been getting opportunities, women that have been in the back that love wrestling and that want an opportunity and haven’t been able to get it.”

Ringside News exclusively reported on WWE’s reason why this change from Tegan Nox was made at first. A tenured member of the team told us that, “the decision was made not to have a title match involving someone who has been off TV for a while.” This was especially the case, “if it’s the first time the NXT Women’s Title is being defended on RAW.” So, Vince McMahon made that change.

We will keep a close eye on this story, right here at Ringside News. The book is not closed for Tegan Nox, because she went on to beat Natalya the next week. That earned her a future NXT Women’s Title shot, between Becky Lynch or Tiffany Stratton.
