WWE and AEW are still trying to beat each other each week in terms of entertainment quality, and Tony Khan’s company has utilized the talents of many former WWE Superstars to put on the best shows he can. That being said, one veteran talent vanished from AEW television, but prior to that, she apparently had some heat on her.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about Serena Deeb’s AEW status. The veteran pro wrestling reporter said, “I’ve asked, and I’ve never gotten an answer.”

Bryan Alvarez then said that he asked as well, but didn’t receive an answer. That being said, he also hinted that Serena Deeb might have had heat on her prior to her vanishing from AEW television.

“I haven’t gotten an answer either, but something happened. There was some sort of heat about something. Whatever it was, she’s not being used. So, there you go.”

Serena Deeb was once positioned as a major player for AEW’s women’s division. Tony Khan’s booking got a bit sidetracked off her storyline and they are currently focusing on different stars. In the meantime, AEW fans are still wondering what happened to the former Straight Edge Society member.

We will have to see when Serena Deeb shows up next. She has a ton of abilities, and she was also helping the AEW roster, which she used the skills she honed as a WWE Performance Center coach. Only time will tell if she comes back to AEW television at this point, or if we receive an update about her contract status.

What’s your take on Serena Deeb’s status in AEW? Why do you think she had backstage heat? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
