Adam Cole suffered an injury at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, but he wasn’t even in a match. Cole hurt himself on the entrance ramp as he went out to get a better look at MJF vs Samoa Joe. Later on, he was spotted coming out of a nearby hospital on crutches, and this may throw a wrench in AEW’s planned ROH Tag Team Title match at WrestleDream.
Some fans were worried about Adam Cole’s status. After all, the company was pretty silent about what was going on, which is rare. During the media conference to hype the WrestleDream event, Tony Khan briefly addressed Adam Cole’s situation.
When Tony Khan was asked about Adam Cole’s status this weekend, TK stated that Cole’s match is still slotted for the event. He went on to downplay Adam Cole’s injury a bit.
It AEW President went on to say that Adam Cole is a little “ginger” on the leg, and they will address it on Dynamite tomorrow. There was a lot of speculation about what AEW might do in this situation, especially since an injury for Cole disrupts their plan for WrestleDream.
AEW has a lot of plans in the pipeline, including monthly pay-per-view events. Only time will tell how AEW looks in a year from now, but Tony Khan probably hopes to have Adam Cole healthy and ready to compete.
Adam Cole was a big get for AEW as he left WWE NXT for Tony Khan’s company. After a terrible stint away from the ring, where he suffered from concussion issues, Cole made his return. Now, we will have to wait to hear about his status this week on AEW Dynamite.
