AEW has some members of their roster with long histories. That is certainly true for Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole. The two were briefly involved with each other in a storyline on television. Sadly, O’Reilly’s neck injury caused an immediate hiatus from television.

Throughout their careers, Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly have been closely associated, from Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling to WWE NXT and now in AEW. They’ve been tag team partners, stablemates, and even rivals. Cole has often likened their relationship to being “married.”

However, in recent memory, Adam Cole has been the only one of the two seen onscreen, as Kyle O’Reilly has been sidelined for over a year due to neck surgery. When asked about O’Reilly’s return to AEW, Cole couldn’t provide an exact date, but expressed optimism that fans would see O’Reilly back in action sooner rather than later.

During a recent conversation with Inside The Ropes, Adam Cole provided an update on Kyle O’Reilly. Although O’Reilly is injured, he is still pushing forward. Sadly, at this time there is no time table for his in-ring return.

“All I can say is Kyle is continuing to push forward. This has been a very long and very, very tough process for him. But he’s a warrior. Again, there’s nothing that Kyle loves more than pro wrestling, and he’s doing everything that he can to make sure that he’s getting healthy and getting back to a point where he can return to the ring.”

“Obviously, there’s still no timetable on when he’s going to be able to come back, but Kyle is progressing. He’s getting better every single week, and just like the rest of the world, I can’t wait till Kyle O’Reilly gets back. I miss him so much.”

This interview actually went down prior to Adam Cole’s untimely injury at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. We are still waiting to see what is next for Cole in terms of that injury, because AEW has been silent about the former NXT Champion’s status since then.

MJF and Adam Cole will apparently be on AEW Dynamite this week. We will hopefully hear from them and get some sort of injury update. Odds are, Kyle O’Reilly will be watching and hoping to make his return soon.
