WWE decided to fire a lot of people from their deals after the TKO merger was complete. That included over 100 employees getting cut from WWE’s corporate headquarters, and a good-sized roster cut followed. Obviously, AEW paid attention to that move.

Last week, several WWE superstars, including Dolph Ziggler, were released from the company following Endeavor’s acquisition. A few of those stars could do some good for AEW, especially a former WWE World Champion like Ziggler.

During Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry discussed potential signings for the company, and he mentioned Dolph Ziggler as one of the top names on AEW’s list. He seems to remember the Show-Off from his time in WWE, and he has good memories.

“Dolph Ziggler, top of the list. One of the best wrestlers in this modern era, in the last 10 years, for sure. His first 15 years, he was kind of cutting his teeth, getting acclimated, and then the next four [years], he started to get in the main event picture, kind of being the foil for other people. But the last 10 years, Dolph Ziggler’s been one of the elite of the elite guys.”

We will have to see what Dolph Ziggler does next. He could have a few options on the table, but his stand-up comedy career could also take center stage for him at this point in his life.

Dolph Ziggler spent a very long time as a WWE Superstar. Only time will tell if he becomes All Elite sooner than later, but Mark Henry is apparently pulling for the idea.
