WWE fired a lot of people from the company since the TKO merger was finalized. Rick Boogs’ name was included as part of those main roster cuts, and he’s the only Superstar to express his discontent so far.

We previously reported that Rick Boogs claimed that his WWE release was a “political power play.” He said, “It’s been an interesting time in my life with my job in WWE being terminated do to a backstage political power play, at least that’s my opinion of it. But now is not the time to talk about that. I will get into detail about that when the time is right.”
Shinsuke Nakamura’s former guitarist then logged onto YouTube, and he used the comments section to reveal even more about his WWE exit. He said, “I can say with 100% certainty, the removal of Vince killed my career.” Rick Boogs went off a bit more as he described a “grudge’ someone had against him.
“Pretty much everyone in the corporate side of the company agreed (about him being the ‘ideal’ WWE star due to his size, look and personality) which is why I was always the third party guy doing commercials for Old Spice, Snickers, Mikes Hard Lemonade, and Toyota however, one person clearly has some weird grudge against me.”
Ringside News reached out to confirm this story about Rick Boogs’ claims against him. A tenured member of the WWE team expressed disbelief that Boogs made those remarks, but they appeared to have come from him.
We were told that Rick Boogs’ comments, “sounds like something Ryback would say. In other words, stupid and delusional.” We were also told that Rick Boogs’ comments were, “so crazy, I’d swear he was hacked. But I guess not.”
Rick Boogs might have vented about his WWE release, but we didn’t get an indication that he has 100% burned his bridge with the company yet. There was already a report that WWE may re-hire some people that they released this week. That being said, Rick Boogs probably needs to keep those controversial comments to himself if he wants to be in consideration.
