During the company’s latest slew of releases earlier this week, Mace and Mansoor were handed their release. This came as a shock for many fans who wanted to see them succeed in WWE. Now it appears Mansoor was surprised WWE fired him after the recent lawsuit which included an alleged 9/11 pitch for Mansoor.

Back in April, Abrahams filed the aforementioned lawsuit in which WWE was accused of racist creative pitches and even included quite few racist practices and creative angles. The defendants named in the suit were WWE, Chris Dunn, Ryan Callahan, Jennifer Pepperman, Christine Lubrano, Mike Heller, Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon.

One writer suggested the idea that a ‘secret’ Mansoor had been keeping was that he was behind the 9/11 attacks. Abrahams mentioned in the suit that there was an idea for Mansoor and Angel Garza to feud over Aliyah and part of the story would be about the 9/11 pitch.

While speaking on Twitch, Mansoor talked about the alleged 9/11 attacks pitch and made it clear that he was surprised WWE fired him after the pitch came to light. Mansoor added that he was expecting to still remain in the company for another year.

”The 9/11 thing (storyline pitch from WWE writer)… I’m actually surprised that I got fired because of this 9/11 thing. I thought I was gonna get another year out of that story. There’s no way they’re gonna fire me after this s*** came out.”

“It’s funny because that happened when we were in Europe, that story dropped. I remember we were doing the tour in Europe and somebody texts me — I don’t even wanna say it because obviously they weren’t considering this. It was not a real pitch. It was an inappropriate joke, I think, I hope. Nobody told it to me.”

Mansoor has already found a new sense of motivation following his WWE release. Only time will tell whether Mansoor will be able to become a bigger star in another promotion once his 90-day non-compete clause ends.

What’s your view on what Mansoor had to say? Do you believe WWE was wrong to have fired Mansoor after the 9/11 itch? Let us know in the comments!
