WWE made headlines when they moved headquarters, but they didn’t leave Stamford. AEW might actually pack up their offices and move, and that seems to be a real possibility.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, with their obvious connections to AEW, might seek a different location if negotiations with the city in Florida don’t reach a resolution. This could call for AEW to pack up and move as well.

The team is owned by Shad Khan, who also co-owns AEW alongside AEW President Tony Khan. During the pandemic, the promotion utilized Daily’s Place, situated adjacent to the Jaguars’ home stadium, and even incorporated the stadium for wrestling storylines and matches.

Tony Khan, who actually lives in Jacksonville, operates from the stadium offices that serve as the headquarters for All Elite Wrestling. This situation has seemed to work out for him so far.

Recently, the Jaguars publicized their requirements for funding a new stadium, and they’ve even raised the possibility of relocating if they don’t secure $1 billion in taxpayer funding.

The Sports Business Journal reports that Jaguars president Mark Lamping asked at the AXS DRIVE conference regarding theoretical vote from residents on approving the deal, “Do you want to keep the NFL in Jacksonville?”

The Jacksonville Jaguars are pursuing a new stadium to level the playing field in the NFL, especially considering their 41st-place ranking in media market size compared to other teams.

TIAA Bank Stadium, currently publicly owned, is in line for a makeover, featuring a stadium canopy to combat the sweltering Florida heat. The total cost of this project is estimated at $2 billion, with the team seeking a 50-50 cost-sharing arrangement with the city.

Additionally, the Jacksonville Jaguars have recently inaugurated a $120 million practice facility adjacent to their existing stadium. That is quite a chunk of money, but another one might not be in the pipeline.

Jaguars President Mark Lamping emphasized the importance of retaining an NFL team, stating that losing one would make it highly unlikely for Jacksonville to secure another.

If the NFL team process with the stadium overhaul, they would require a temporary home for one or possibly several seasons. Venues like the Daytona International Speedway and the University of Florida’s stadium are under consideration for this purpose.

What’s your take on AEW possibly leaving Jacksonville? Do you think another city could serve them better? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
