Eddie Kingston is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, as he has competed all over the world in various companies. Kingston is a major star in AEW now and he won the ROH World Championship at Grand Slam. However, it appears he will be stepping from the independent circuit due to a back injury.
During AEW Grand Slam, Eddie Kingston squared off against Claudio Castagnoli, where both the ROH Championship and NJPW Strong Openweight Championship were on the line. In the end, Eddie Kingston would end up winning the match and became the new ROH World Champion.
While it was certainly a joyous occasion for him, Eddie Kingston had some bad news to share today. Kingston took to his Instagram and revealed that he will be stepping away from the independent circuit due to his duties as a double Champion as well as a back injury.
Due to being NJPW Strong Openweight And ROH Champion I have to come to the hard decision that I will have to stop doing Independents. Dealing with a lower back injury right now that I need to get fixed (and will ) so I can be ready for all NJPW strong shows and all three AEW shows. When my responsibilities as NJPW and ROH champion is over I will hopefully be able to do Independents again. I apologize to all but I just need to focus and my body needs to be ready for those shows.
Eddie Kingston will certainly be a busy man as he is now a champion in two different promotions. Therefore, is is quite understandable why y he decided to step away from wrestling in the independent circuit for the foreseeable future.
