Chris Jericho is a true veteran in the professional wrestling world, having been a part of it for thirty years now. Jericho has shown time and time again that he is loyal to AEW till the very end. AEW has been drowning in controversy for well over a month now and it appears Chris Jericho believes fans focused too much on the negatives after AEW All In.

CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing.

The backstage fight ended up taking away from All In’s success as fans mostly just talked about CM Punk again. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho stated that he believes fans focused too much on the negatives after AEW All In, citing an example of his own backstage scuffle with Goldberg back in the day.

”It’s wrestling, though, man, you know? It’s only rock and roll. People like to focus on [the] negative. I remember when I got into a fight with Goldberg in Milwaukee, it was out on whatever version of the internet was then 10 minutes later.

Out of those 81,000 people, how many people know what ever happened, or ever really care? The hardcore [fans], and the journalists, and the guys who do this care, and we should. But there’s also fans — not just 81,000, but how about being number one on cable, once again, four weeks in a row?”

Chris Jericho has done a lot for AEW and will continue to defend the company at every turn no matter what. Regardless, AEW has a lot in the pipeline and Tony Khan is simply focused on that now.
