WWE hyped up Quincy Elliott’s NXT debut last year as the company clearly saw big things in the SuperDiva. All of that didn’t matter anymore as he was released yesterday. Now it appears Elliott created many issues backstage prior to his release.
After making a splash in NXT last year, Quincy Elliott simply didn’t manage to connect to the audience and he wasn’t booked as well as fans would have liked.
The Super Diva would announce yesterday that he was released by WWE, but didn’t seem too sad about it. While speaking on a Fightful Select livestream, Sean Ross Sapp reported that Quincy Elliott caused a lot of issues backstage in WWE, especially for the staff.
“Quincy Elliott was trouble. Quincy Elliott caused all kinds of issues for the staff in WWE.
It was somebody that was always going to be up next on the chopping block. No other way to put it. Quincy Elliott was gonna get cut.”
Quincy Elliott’s last appearance was in an NXT North American Title number one contender battle royal in March this year. Regardless, it remains to be seen whether Elliott will find a new home once his non-compete clause expires.
