WWE and UFC merged, and many in Vince McMahon’s company were afraid that cuts were coming. A few days after the TKO merger was made official, they fired a lot of people from WWE HQ. That being said, some people were able to keep their jobs.

WWE fired over 100 employees last Friday, and that shook up the company’s internal structure in a big way. Several days later, the company went through a round of roster cuts.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the public relations side of the company wasn’t touched in the recent releases. This was a rarity with the company, because a lot of people lost their jobs last week.

“There were no cuts on the public relations side.”

The podcasting, WWE Network, and marketing departments were hit especially hard in the releases. WWE and UFC are going to act separately as companies, but it appears that they did discover a lot of redundancies.

We will have to see what is next in the TKO company. A lot of things are on the table right now, and they plan to hit the ground running.
