AEW is still going strong with plenty of big plans for the future. This is thanks to Tony Khan’s drive, as he puts in 100 hours of work in a week, all for the betterment of his pro wrestling company. That being said, AEW isn’t the best at taking criticism either.

AEW Botches was a popular X account, and they were known for posting AEW botches, as the name of the account suggests. The account was able to skirt a lot of algorithm restrictions and avoid copyright infringements like a ninja for a while, but they were suddenly suspended.

Fans are not happy about losing this account, which had over 40k followers. They have now started #FreeAEWBotches, and it has gained a lot of stream.

Brad Shepard led the charge on this narrative, as he shared on X that this action from AEW is “embarrassing” that AEW is so “hypersensitive.”

It’s embarrassing how petty and hypersensitive the people who work for #AEW are. Getting @aewbotches suspended because you can’t face the truth of your own product and fix it? They’re focused on the wrong things.

In 2019, it was said that AEW will not go after fans posting clips online. Apparently, things changed in a big way.

Fans are now allegedly getting notices on behalf of AEW demanding them to take down content. One alleged notice that we were sent from an X account provided the exact language these notices are claimed to be using.

“We have noticed that your recent tweet concerning AEW, which includes defamatory statements about the company. This pattern of behavior has persisted for some time, prompting us to issue this formal notice.”

“We kindly request the immediate removal of the mentioned tweet to prevent potential legal actions. Failure to comply may leave us with no choice but to take further steps to protect AEW’s reputation and interests.”

O’Shea Jackson Jr, the famous Straight Outta Compton star, who also commented on CM Punk’s AEW firing with disdain, commented to say, “Damn free my dawg. He ain’t even do nothin.”

As of this writing, Tony Khan has not publicly addressed this activity from his company’s social media department, but it’s not the best look at all. In fact, some fans are pretty upset about this.

AEW has a lot on their plate already. It appears that they might want to address this issue before it snowballs into event more issues down the line. You may check out some posts about this situation below.
