WWE Talent ‘Frustration’ Amidst Recent Wave of Releases

After WWE and UFC finished their merger last week, fans feared the worst as they expected numerous cuts from WWE. That already happened as they fired over 100 staff from their headquarters. WWE has now started releasing several talent from their contracts and it appears this has led to other talent being frustrated.

We previously reported that Mustafa Ali said he is no longer working with WWE. It was then revealed that Emma was released today as well. Riddick Moss later joined his fiancé in free agency.

It was later reported that Rock Boogs was released from his contract. That’s not all as the likes of Aliyah, Shelton Benjamin and even Elias followed suit in a matter of minutes.

According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, it was reported that, “There was some frustration among members of the roster” as the releases took place so close to WWE securing a new TV deal for Smackdown. One top star even said those who’d been released barely stood a chance as they hadn’t been booked

”One top star told Fightful Select that most of the list of releases barely had a chance considering they weren’t booked, and called it a circle that couldn’t be escaped.”

Elias has already reacted to his shocking WWE release. It remains to be seen whether WWE will end up releasing more Superstars as the day progresses, as fans are simply fearing the worst right now.
