Sammy Guevara became one of the most beloved stars in AEW, mainly thanks to his solid in-ring prowess. While he remained a babyface for a long time afterwards, he ended up turning heel after betraying Chris Jericho at AEW Grand Slam this week. Now it appears he broke his silence on the matter.
Sammy Guevara had been paired up with Chris Jericho since the very first episode of AEW Dynamite. Through all the ups and downs over the years, they have remained loyal to each other.
The Spanish God and Le Champion squared off against each other at AEW Grand Slam. In the end, Chris Jericho would come out on top after nailing Guevara with a Codebreaker. Right after that, Sammy Guevara turned on Jericho as the two recreated an iconic WrestleMania moment concerning Chris Jericho.
The Spanish God would then align himself with Don Callis’ family. Sammy Guevara took to Twitter and broke his silence after his heel turn, as he simply quoted Chris Jericho’s AEW theme song ‘Judas.’
What have I become…
Only time will tell whether AEW will properly develop Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho’s feud, as it is likely The Ocho will need more help in order to thwart Don Callis.
