WWE’s television shows make it very clear that the card is always subject to change. This week’s episode of RAW saw a few changes along the way, and now we have the reasoning for one of those changes.
It was previously reported that Tegan Nox was originally slated to answer Becky Lynch’s NXT Women’s Title open challenge on RAW. Natalya answered that challenge instead, and they had a nice match that saw The Main retain. There was a reason behind that change.
Ringside News was told by a tenured member of the team that, “the decision was made not to have a title match involving someone who has been off TV for a while.” This was especially the case, “if it’s the first time the NXT Women’s Title is being defended on RAW.” So, Vince McMahon made that change.
The feeling was it enhanced the brand more to have a well known veteran going after the NXT Women’s Title. Tegan Nox still got to wrestle during the show, but it was on the Main Event tapings.
Tegan Nox hasn’t been on RAW since she lost in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title #1 Contendership Turmoil on July 3rd. She is not injured, and has been around, working only on Main Event tapings since then.
Becky Lynch was actually the person who requested to work with Tegan Nox in that setting. Sadly, she did not see her request fulfilled. Now, we will have to see if Nox gets any kind of love on the WWE main roster after this, because she hasn’t been seen for quite some time.
