The Rock’s influence in the world of professional wrestling needs no introduction as he has accomplished a lot in the business. It’s always a big deal when he appears on WWE television and last week on Smackdown was no different. That said, he also had a lot of criticism for his appearance and it appears Konnan defended The Great One in a big way.

The Rock made his return after almost four years on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. In fact, he ended up getting the biggest pop on the show by a mile. He even hit The People’s Elbow on Austin Theory, electrifying fans in attendance.

While speaking on the Keeping It 100 podcast, Konnan addressed those people who claimed that The Rock looked blown up after getting physical with Austin Theory on Smackdown.

”Bro, he’s out there expending energy, you’d be blown up too. Bro I’m telling you, when I said promos, you’re not just out there, you’re feeding up the energy, you’re throwing out energy, you have to remember your lines, you got to thinkk on your feet, you’re nervous, your adrenaline is up, it’s a whole different world bro, you go up and do that.”

“There’s no promoter in the world that wouldn’t say ‘Yeah, I’d love to have The Rock on for 20 minutes just adlibbing, he don’t do that anywhere else.”

The Rock certainly made a lot of memories in Denver for SmackDown. He even took the opportunity to take a photo with one lucky fan at ringside. We’ll have to wait and see if he will return to WWE television once again.
