WWE RAW Results Coverage, Reactions & Highlights For September 18, 2023

It’s Monday night, and you know what that means! WWE RAW will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage.

Tonight promises another exciting night of action as Ricochet looks to get some revenge on Shinsuke Nakamura. Also scheduled for tonight is the singles match between Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso. The updated match card is as follows:

• Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso
• Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio

WWE RAW Opener:

The opening package for the show airs.

Cody Rhodes’ music plays and he comes out to the ring. He gets on the mic and says he was interrupted last week and so, he would like to talk about Jey Uso. Dominik Mysterio’s theme song plays and he comes out.

Dominik says the only thing people need to know about Jey Uso is that when he joins the Judgment Day, they will continue to be the most dominant faction in WWE. He says Mami isn’t here because she was injured last week by Nia Jax. He then says he will be dedicating his victory to Rhea. Cody asks if the crowd heard him and they say no. Cody asks Dominik to repeat himself.

Cody reiterates what Dominik said. He says maybe that is what will impress her enough to define their relationship. He says Dominik is more into her than she is into him. He then says Mami has eyes for Jey Uso. Dominik says they are all family and it isn’t like that. Judgment Day’s music plays and they walk to the ring.

Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio

*Commercial break*

The match starts and Cody Rhodes hits an uppercut. He then plants him to the mat. Cody locks in a figure four lock. Cody sent to the apron. Balor knocks him off the apron. Dominik sends him into the ring and attacks him in the corner. Dominik goes for the three amigos but Cody escapes and hits the Cody cutter. He then hits the Cross Rhodes for the win.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

Judgment Day is on the apron. Kevin Owens’ music plays and he comes running down to the ring with Sami Zayn. Kevin asks for the music to be cut and he asks Cody to get back in the ring.

*Commercial break*

Owens says Jey is back on RAW because of Cody and Cody says he is correct. Owens says Cody is well aware of what Jey did to a lot of the people backstage and he asks why he thought it was a good idea to bring him to RAW.

Cody says there is a lot of people to need to hear it but the fans already know why. He says his job is to make the fans happy. He asks if the crowd likes Jey Uso and they cheer. He says he has received a lot of second chances and so does Jey. Cody says they should give them a chance to show them why he has changed. He says the Bloodline is now down a member.

Sami says Owens takes a bit longer to trust people and he says he knows Jey Uso. He says Owens doesn’t have to give him a second chance but he should. He says they have given each other second chances and they ended up winning the tag titles.

Owens says he hears them. He says he will pretend that Jey is the reason they are not Universal Champion. He says he can’t trust Jey but he trusts them and he hopes they are right.

Kofi Kingston vs. Ivar

The New Day’s music plays and he walks to the ring.

*Commercial break*

Ivar’s theme song plays and he comes down to the ring.

The match starts and Ivar knocks down Kofi. Kofi returns with a back elbow. Ivar knocks down Kofi again. Kofi with an axehandle off the top rope. He then hits a clothesline. Kofi with a spinning kick. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Ivar sends Kofi out of the ring. He hits a splash on Kofi.

*Commercial break*

Ivar hits a side slam and follows it with a crossbody. Ivar goes for a splash and misses. Kofi hits a splash. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Kofi hits a crossbody. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Ivar comes back with a kick to the face. Kofi hits the SOS. Cover! 1…2…kick out. Kofi with the boom drop.

Kofi goes for a Trouble in Paradise and misses. Ivar hits a double underhook powerbomb. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Ivar with a spinning kick. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Ivar crushes Kingston in the corner. Ivar hits a moonsault on Kofi. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Ivar sets him up on the top rope. Kofi hits a sunset flip powerbomb. He hits the Trouble in Paradise for the win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Jackie interviews Ricochet who says Nakamura thinks that tonight is a mind game against Seth Rollins. He says he is past Nakamura but the only reason he is facing him tonight is because he attacked him last week. He then says tonight will be game over for Nakamura.

Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura’s music plays and he walks to the ring. Seth Rollins’ music hits and he walks to the ring. Adam Pearce comes out with security to stop him but Rollins runs after Nakamura who runs away and hides behind the security personnel.

*Commercial break*

Ricochet’s theme song plays and he comes down to the ring. The match begins and Nakamura kicks Ricochet in the face. Ricochet fights back with a dropkick. Cover! 1…..Nakamura gets his foot on the rope. Nakamura comes back with a sliding dropkick. Nakamura places him on the top rope and hits him with a running knee. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

Nakamura goes to work on Ricochet. Ricochet hits a moonsault. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Nakamura attacks Ricochet in the corner. Nakamura goes for a sliding German suplex and misses. Ricochet hits a moonsault.

Ricochet hits Nakamura with a kick to the ring. He hits Nakamura with a back elbow and follows it with a shooting star. Ricochet hits a crossbody. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Nakamura sets him on the rope and kicks him sending him to the floor. He goes for the Kinshasa but Ricochet catches him with the enzuigiri. Nakamura tries to hit him with a steel chair but he escapes and superkicks him. Ricochet hits Nakamura with the chair.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura via DQ

Ricochet argues with the referee and Nakamura attacks him from behind. He then hits the Kinshasa and targets the leg of Ricochet. He hits Ricochet’s leg with the chair. Seth Rollins comes from the crowd and attacks Nakamura. He goes for the pedigree but Nakamura counters with the back drop on the steel chair. Security personnel comes out to separate them as they both brawl. Nakamura slams Rollins on the announcer’s desk.

Seth Rollins struggles to walk to the trainer’s room.

Byron interviews Piper Niven and Chelsea Green. Green says Shayna and Zoey aren’t a real team. She says friendship makes a real team and she Piper her friends. Piper says they are not friends and asks what country she is from. Green guesses Florida and Niven walks away. Green tells Byron that they are going to show Shayna and Zoey what a real team is like.

Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark vs. Chelsea Green & Piper Niven

Shayna Baszler’s music plays and she comes out to the ring. Zoey Stark’s theme song plays and she comes down to the ring. Piper Niven’s music hits next and she comes out to the ring. Chelsea Green’s music plays next and she joins her and they walk to the ring.

The match begins and Stark knocks Green down. Green comes back with a dropkick. Niven tags in and attacks Zoey in the corner. Green tags in and continues the attack. Zoey comes back with a kick. Cover! 1….2….Piper makes the save. Shayna attacks Niven. Niven bodyslams her. Nia Jax attacks Niven from behind and sends her into the post.

She hits a Samoan drop on Stark and follows it with the senton. She throws Green across the ring and attacks her in the corner. Jax attacks Shayna in the corner and hits the annihilator.

Winner: No Contest

Pearce is on the phone. Chad Gable interrupts him to ask about Seth. He says he beat Ludwig and asks what he has to do to get one more chance with Gunther. Pearce says he must earn his way in. Bronson Reed walks in and asks him to get to the back of the line. Gable challenges him. Pearce asks them to take their fight to the ring.

Alpha Academy’s music plays and they come down to the ring.

Jackie interviews Jey Uso who says he has a lot of eyes on him. He says he is going to get physical with Drew tonight. Damian interrupts and says he is here to ask him for a favor. He says he wants Jey Uso in the Judgment Day but he can’t make that decision since it is a family. Damian says he knows about the bloodline but they can be the family he has been looking for his whole life and asks him to give him an answer by the end of RAW.

Bronson Reed’s music plays and he comes down to the ring. The match begins and Gable tries to knock down Reed but he is still on his feet. Reed hits him with a splash in the corner and follows it with a powerslam. Reed headbutts Gable. Reed throws Gable into the turnbuckle and sends him out of the ring.

*Commercial break*

Reed knocks down Gable. Reed with forearm strikes to Reed. He hits a diving headbutt on Reed. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Reed bulldozes Gable and goes for a senton but Gable gets his knees up. Gable goes for a sleeper hold but Reeds slams him. He then hits the tsunami for the win.

Winner: Bronson Reed

Tommaso Ciampa is backstage and says he tried to be patient for his number to be called. He says patience is not a virtue but a crutch. He says Giovanni will tap again and then so will Ludwig. He says he chose Imperium because Gunther has what he wants. He then walks away.

Sami and Owens are arguing backstage. Jey interrupts and asks him to say what he has to say to his face. Owens says it won’t be long before he runs to Judgment Day. Owens says he doesn’t trust Jey whether he joins Judgment Day or not and then he storms off. Sami asks Jey to chill. He says Jey has a big decision to make tonight.

Becky Lynch’s music plays and she walks to the ring. Lynch gets on the mic and says she is the new NXT Women’s Champion. She says winning the title wasn’t on her list this year but she learned this year to grab any opportunity. She says she didn’t want to win this title to says she is a Grand Slam Champion. She says she wants to elevate this title to new heights.

She says she wants to test herself against the very best the future has to offer which is why she will be in NXT tomorrow. But tonight she is here in Utah and she knows there are many women in the back who want an opportunity and that is why she is offering an open challenge.

Natalya’s music plays and she comes out. Natalya says no one who is worked hard for an opportunity. She says she has been waiting patiently for her chance and hence, she accepts her challenge. Lynch tells her she was hoping to face someone who has never had an opportunity. Natalya calls her hypocritical before shoving her. Lynch accepts her challenge.

NXT Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya

Natalya sends Lynch into the post.

Lynch knocks down Natalya. She hits the Becksploder suplex. Cover! 1….2…kick out. Lynch goes for the Manhandle slam but Natalya reverses into the German suplex. Becky climbs the top rope but is stopped. Natalya with a superplex. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

Becky drives Natalya into the corner. Lynch with a missile dropkick. She sends her out of the ring. Lynch sends her back into the ring. Natalya comes back with a discus clothesline. Cover! 1….2…kick out. Lynch goes for the Manhandle slam but Natalya escapes out of it. Lynch then rolls her up for the win.

Pearce is backstage with Dragon Lee and they are interrupted by Dominik who says he was distracted because Rhea wasn’t by her ringside. He says Pearce should punish Nia for what she did to Rhea but instead, Pearce is talking to Dragon Lee. He then says he doesn’t like people with masks because it reminds him of his deadbeat dad. Dragon Lee says he doesn’t see what Rhea sees in him. He then tells Dominik that he is going to beat him for the NXT North American Championship next week.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Giovanni Vinci

Imperium’s music plays and Giovanni Vinci walks to the ring with Ludwig Kaiser.

*Commercial break*

Tommaso Ciampa’s music plays and he comes down to the ring.

The match starts and Vinci attacks Ciampa after Kaiser distracts him. Vinci with a clothesline to Ciampa. Vinci with a back suplex. Cover! 1…2….kick out. Ciampa fights back against Vinci with a clothesline. Ciampa hits a reverse DDT. Kaiser distracts Ciampa and Vinci takes advantage.

Ciampa catches Vinci with a knee strike and he locks in the Scicilian stretch and Vinci taps out.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa

Byron interviews Seth Rollins who says he is tired and in a lot of pain and he is trying to keep it together but he is losing his mind. He says he is sick of Nakamura’s games. He says Nakamura is pushing him to a place he has to go and maybe it’s time he takes his hands off the wheel. He asks Nakamura to name the time, place, and stipulation. He says their destinies are intertwined at this point.

Jey Uso vs. Drew McIntyre

Jey Uso’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring.

Drew McIntyre’s music plays and he walks to the ring.

The match begins and Drew attacks Jey in the corner. Jey fights back but is stopped by McIntyre who hits a suplex. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Drew chops Jey down and stomps him. McIntyre attacks Jey in the corner.

Jey sends Drew out of the ring and he dives onto him. Jey hits another suicide dive. The Judgment Day comes out to ringside.

McIntyre with a right hand to Jey. He then hits a superplex. Both men exchange strikes. McIntyre with the Glasgow kiss. Jey comes back with a Samoan drop. Drew rolls out of the ring. Jey goes for a suicide dive but McIntyre catches him with a right hand. Drew hits a spinebuster. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Drew with a neckbreaker to Jey. Damian Priest distracts Drew and Jey superkicks him.

Judgment Day are encouraging Jey. Jey superkicks Damian, Finn, and Dominik. Drew hits the Claymore for the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Judgment Day get in the ring. They attack Jey in the ring. Drew McIntyre walks away. Cody Rhodes’ music plays and he comes down and attacks Judgment Day. He hits the Cross Rhodes on Dominik as Judgment Day retreats.
