Pro wrestling history is full of amazing stories, and some of those are told in different ways depending on who’s behind the microphone. This includes the formation of the nWo.

Many people in the history of pro wrestling have claimed ownership of coming up with revolutionary concepts. In recent memory, Larry Zbyszko laid claim to being the creative spark behind the nWo. In case you need a refresher, during a recent Q&A, he claimed ownership for putting the whole nWo thing together.

“Well, to be honest with you, I’m the one that programmed the whole angle. They had a meeting in the back one day and I found out what was going on with Scott Hall coming in, and they had some ideas. Then Eric looked around and said, ‘Anybody got anything to say’, and I raised my hand, and he went, ‘Oh God, what?’ and I laid out a different idea. I programmed the whole beginning how Scott Hall came in, and then Nash and Syxx-Pac.”

“Eric goes, ‘Oh God, your ideas are so good, and I thought about mine for months, eh.’ He listened to me, and I’m the one that programmed the whole beginning of the NWO and even in promos, right before it happened, they came out, and I went, ‘Oh my God. There’s gonna be a New World Order in wrestling.’ Eric heard that, and it stuck in his head and said, ‘That’s a perfect name for this.’ So, you know, inadvertently I named the NWO and I programmed the whole beginning of that scenario that got to be the hottest, biggest thing in wrestling. So I really was responsible for some good sh*t in the wrestling business.”

During a recent Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash fired back at this idea that Larry Zbyszko came up with the nWo idea. In the end, it was seen as a “story,” and one that shouldn’t hold a ton of water.

“The only problem with Larry’s story is that I was signed to a deal. Pac wasn’t. He wasn’t coming. So I gotta say that’s the first I’ve heard of it. I call bullsh*t. It’s crazy because the only person I ever had a conversation with was Eric and Kevin Sullivan. Eric Bischoff says it best. You ask five people that were in a room in ’93 a story and you will get f*cking five completely different answers.”

Kevin Nash is known to destroy people on his podcast when needed. CM Punk was absolutely trashed by Big Kev. He also revealed an alleged conversation he had with Triple H about how much he’s willing to pay LA Knight.

We will have to see if there is any response to Kevin Nash’s side of the story, but he certainly seems willing to bring up the nWo whenever the occasion needs it.
