The Rock & John Cena Share Backstage Moment During WWE SmackDown

WWE Surprised everyone when the first twenty minutes of this week’s SmackDown included an epic segment with Pat McAfee, Austin Theory, and The Rock. Fans in Denver were thrilled to see that go down, but an even bigger moment happened backstage.

The Rock and Pat McAfee were shown backstage once more before the first hour of the show closed. They were still fired up from that amazing segment, and loved how much they got Denver fans to chant “you are an asshole” at Austin Theory.

Then The Rock turned around, and he was greeted by a face from his past. John Cena stood there and had a face-to-face with The Rock for a moment.

Then they broke the tension with a smile and a brotherly hug. John Cena welcomed The Rock “home,” and it was quite a great moment.

We will have to see if The Rock returns for any further stories down the line. The Rock appearing on SmackDown days after the new TKO Holdings Group merger is quite interesting timing.
