WWE fired over 100 employees today. This went down on the Friday after WWE and UFC’s merger into TKO Holdings Group was finalized, marking a rocky start, but cuts were also expected.
A few divisions were hit very hard by the cuts today including marking, podcasting and the WWE Network. It appears that some divisions were not touched as bad by the cuts.
PW Insider noted that the analytics team was trimmed to just three employees. The graphic design and live events departments were also slashed considerably.
There were WWE divisions that were absolutely ripped apart today as a result of today’s layoffs, PWInsider.com can confirm.
The Insights & Analytics team, which featured a 20+ member team, had at least 17 employees released today, leaving three total to continue on that department.
We are told that the Marketing, Graphic Design and Live Events department also saw departures.
It was also noted that not all divisions were hit with layoffs. If employees were part of a smaller division or team, it was more likely that they were spared.
Ringside News exclusively reported that the WWE Creative Team is not expected to see any cuts. That is not to say others didn’t receive terrible news today.
