John Cena returned to WWE for a two-month comeback, and he will be busy through the SAG-AFTRA Strike after all. The 16x World Champion also took his first trip to India for a WWE event, but he didn’t travel alone.
Ringside News exclusively reported that John Cena’s WWE return was helped out by the current SAG-AFTRA strike. Talks about his return to the company started when those strike talks began. Since WWE doesn’t have a union, John Cena can come in and entertain the WWE Universe while Hollywood figures that situation out.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that John Cena traveled to India with a “large security team.” This team apparently stayed with him before and after the event.
“Cena had a large security team with him at all times before and after the show.”
John Cena is worth a lot of money to movie studios, even though they aren’t shooting anything right now due to the strike. The Rock was actually cautioned not to make a WWE return during the strike. The fear is that it might send the wrong kind of message, after all, WWE is a non-unionized organization.
Seth Rollins and John Cena teamed up at the Superstar Spectacle to take on Imperium. Cena and Rollins won that match, which was a real treat for Indian fans. As it turns out, Cena’s security wasn’t too far away in case something popped off that wasn’t part of the show.
John Cena will appear on SmackDown this week as a guest on the Grayson Waller Effect. That should be a fun segment for John Cena, but it could also result in a match. Only time will tell how many times WWE can get John Cena to wrestle during this comeback, after he worked a tag team match at the Superstar Spectacle.
