CM Punk has made his first public appearance since being fired by AEW on September 2. Punk is back in his role as a member of the commentary team for Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC), where he will be calling the action for their 125th card tonight.
During the broadcast, Punk’s cohost, John Morgan, made a humorous reference to the recent AEW situation by saying, “We probably have some things to talk about.” He added with a jest that Punk was returning to CFFC “with cause.”
However, Punk responded with sarcasm, asking, “What is there we could talk about?”
This appearance follows a similar situation last year at CFFC 114, shortly after the initial backstage incident at AEW All Out 2022. Punk humorously commented then, “Oh, I’m bad news, you don’t want me in the locker room.”
Fast forward to nearly a year later, Punk has been terminated from AEW “with cause” following a backstage incident at AEW All In London 2023. Tony Khan stated that he felt his “life was in danger” during this incident.
As of now, there is no information regarding whether Punk has a non-compete clause in place before a potential return to wrestling, should he decide to do so. CM Punk continues to make headlines and remains a polarizing figure in the world of professional wrestling.
